The team were originally called ‘Tail O the Bank’ and taught by Cath Caskie Khan and Chris Caldwell.  The Social Work Department introduced this activity to provide therapy, and recreation to wheelchair users who lived in and around Greenock.  The team changed its name to the ‘Inverclyders’ when the Social Work Dept. dropped this activity from its curriculum.   At that time the team members continued to dance by themselves until they asked Cath to return.  She did so, on a voluntary capacity.

All current team members live within the community within the Inverclyde area, and independently get themselves to our weekly practices.  Those practices are held most Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm in Port Glasgow Town Hall.

In August some of the team participated along with John Michie, Pamela Stephenson and Bill Connelly in the STV Dance Marathon Appeal, 2012.  The Inverclyders raised nearly £400.00 for children in Scotland who are living in poverty.  It was nice to give something back to the community.

We are always looking for new dancers for our team, and for volunteers to help us with props, fundraising and general duties required to get us prepared for the competitions. If you are interested please do not hesitate to contact any of the names above. Your help will be much appreciated.
